1. What is eMail Hosting vs Dedicated Servers or just plain hosting ?
Blue Eye's innovative eMail hosting solution is specially designed for businesses and individuals who want all the benefits of large scale enterprise mail services but none of the overhead associated with these systems. Our professional staff of engineers, administrators, and support technicians operate all the systems required. We provide the hardware, we provide the support, we provide the upgrades, and most importantly we provide the peace of mind that comes with letting a professional organization do the all the back-end work.

Of course there are free services out there and for normal day to day non-business email those are fine. If you want the look and feel of a professional company using a hotmail address is usually not an option. Blue Eye's Hosted eMail comes with full compatibility with Microsoft Outlook, Calendars, Tasks, Wireless sync (push mail) with PDA's & Smart phones, and it even works with the iPhone for wireless sync of address books.

WIth our service you get is a fully tested, deployed and delivered email system for your business or stand alone accounts for individuals at per account prices far below that of most all other eMail solutions.

Dedicated servers are physical servers that solely service the needs of a single client. For websites, email, DNS, etc..

Plain Hosting is just putting multiple clients on a single dedicated server. This is also referred to as a multi-host server. Many businesses don't require anywhere near the power of a dedicated server and can take advantage of the cost savings of a normal hosting account.

2. What type of facilities does Blue Eye operate ?
We have service equipment in multiple Data Centers to ensure maximum uptime and geographical diversity. All of our facilities have multiple physical and electronic security measures, redundant Internet links, multiple core routers, dry-action or gas fire suppression, multiple public grid electrical inputs, full building UPS systems, and of course on-site emergency generators. We have agreements with our carriers requiring no single point of facility failure which allows us to offer the 99.99% uptime guarantee.

3. What type of servers and hardware do you use ?
Blue Eye Hosting is a premier partner with several leading network equipment manufactures. We exclusively deploy Dell PowerEdge equipment for all front-end Servers running Window & Linux. We use Apple for specialty hosting and customer requested platforms. In addition to that we utilize Cisco routers, Network Appliance & EMC central storage arrays, and HP switches.

We never deploy anything ' home-grown ' or generic built. All of our equipment is under factory warranty and we maintain a supply of all primary replacement parts.

We maintain strict equipment standards so we can sleep good at night knowing that we've done everything possible to deliver on our promises of stable, reliable, and cost effective solutions.

4. What if my needs exceed the standard server configuration ?
All of our services are monitored for performance benchmarks and reviewed on a daily basis. As demand reaches 75% of of capacity servers are upgraded and new servers are deployed to maintain optimum performance levels.

If you have a dedicated solution and we're running a specific server just for your business upgrades of every kind are possible, however there may be some minor costs depending on your service plan.

5. What if a server fails ?
All of our primary services are run on multiple redundant servers so the failure of any single server will not interrupt any services. Each of our servers runs RAID internal storage and is backed-up to our central storage arrays. In the even of a dedicated customer server failure we maintain spare parts and entire spare systems that can be put into service extremely fast. The exact time of the replacement or service impact may differ slightly, but in most cases server failures are resolved within minutes.

6. What operating systems do you offer or support ?
Blue Eye Hosting offers Red Hat Linux, CentOS Linux, Debian Linux, and Windows for hosted mail solutions and dedicated customer servers. Mac OS X is offered for dedicated customer and managed customer server hosting.

Blue Eye's technical staff are experts with multiple OS platforms and most brands of network equipment. While we prefer Linux for various stability reasons we understand that several key business applications require Windows.
